He will work closely with partners and co-founders Kenneth Kupferberg and Kevin Landry, as well as the agency’s creative team. Hoffman, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Antioch College and a Masters’ in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, began his career at Grey Advertising in New York as a copywriter. He later held creative marketing positions with CBS Records (Bruce Springsteen, Santana, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Elvis Costello), ARP Instruments, and the CBS Musical Instruments Division (Fender Guitars, Rogers Drums, Rhodes Pianos). He brings more than three decades’ experience to his new position. Hoffman is a former principal at Gearon Hoffman, a Boston advertising agency which he co-founded in 1982. There, he led and collaborated on branding efforts for clients including Samuel Adams Beer, Scottrade, Prudential Retirement Services, Tufts Health Plan, Columbo Frozen Yogurt, Papa Gino’s, Apple & Eve Fruit Juices, Grolsch Beer, Rockport footwear, Keds footwear, The New York Daily News, Prudential Retirement Services, Omni Hotels, The Massachusetts General Hospital, the Brown & Company discount brokerage division of J. P. Morgan Chase & Co., and Boston’s Museum of Science. The agency also worked with many respected academic institutions, including Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the New England Conservatory, Simmons College, and Berklee College of Music. Recently Hoffman and his partner decided to end their partnership to pursue other interests and the firm was closed. The son of a Marine aviator/engineer and professional actress, Hoffman resides in Norwell with his wife, Deborah, their son, Guy, and two cats. Bob is a past president of the Advertising Club of Greater Boston.
