Follow on Google News | Tea Party Brews "Identity Politics" Radio Advertising Campaign in CaliforniaLos Angeles-area Patriot Group Targets Media Bias and Tea Party Ideals
By: The Patriots Almanac "The "tea party" can't get its Constitutional message past the media that creates, then attacks, our image in the public square," says Karen Kenney, coordinator of the San Fernando Valley Patriots (SFVP), which sponsors the 6-month radio advertising campaign on KRLA-870 AM in Los Angeles."We need to get past the pit bulls and into daily life." The ads deliberately pit common sense against political correctness. Dawn Wildman, who is president of the SoCal Tax Revolt Coalition Inc. and coordinator of the more than 300-member California Tea Party Groups Coalition, agrees that American values get lost in the mainstream media. "Since the inception of the tea party in California in February of 2009, we have aimed to remind taxpayers and voters that the Constitution of this great country has afforded us the freedom and liberty we so take for granted," she says."We are the nation of possibilities and prosperty and we need to remember why we fought so hard for those values 235 years ago." The weekly, 30-second "Identity Politics" spots will contrast "tea party" principles with headline topics from food stamps, diversity and the 2nd Amendment to Marxism, "La Raza" and the "Occupy" movement. The ads will air Saturdays, starting April 6, 2013 from 9 to 11 p.m. on KRLA-870 AM during the Mark Isler Show. End
