The Restyled 2014 Dodge Durango Has Been Unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show

Under the hood of the 2014 Dodge Durango is a fuel-saving, state-of-the-art, eight-speed automatic transmission. According to Dodge, this new eight-speed transmission, which will replace the five- and six-speed automatic transmissions in the current Durango, will increase fuel economy by up to 9%. The new standard transmission can be paired with either a 3.6L V6 engine that delivers 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, or a 5.7L HEMI V8 that produces 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

The latest Durango sports a mildly restyled exterior. Highlights include a reshaped front grille, projector headlamps with LED running lights, a new LED racetrack taillight design, 18- or 20-inch aluminum wheels, a taller front bumper that when combined with the new lower front fascia delivers a more aggressive look, and 10-exterior color options.  

The interior of this full-size SUV comes loaded with the latest technology, including a new seven-inch TFT color instrument cluster that can be customized in a variety of ways. Buyers also have the choice of either a five or 8.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect access. Also available as an option is a Blue-Ray/DVD rear-seat entertainment system that comes with dual nine-inch screens placed on the back of the front seats.

There are more than 60 available safety features on the new Durango, including standard all-speed traction control, electronic stability control, and forward collision warning, along with seven standard airbags. Blind-spot monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection systems that assist with lane changing or when driving in a parking lot are also available.
