2013 Wounded Warrior Half Marathon, 10K and Military Fun Run

DALLAS - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Close to 4,000 runners are expected for the much-anticipated fourth annual Wounded Warrior Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Las Colinas, Texas. The event, presented by Dallas Athletes Racing, will honor the nation’s men and women of the military. The Marines, military tanks and equipment will be onsite, and the grand finale will feature an after-party with food, drink and live music provided by Texas-born country music recording artist Dave Roberts, a Captain Cobra Pilot with the Marines who served in Afghanistan.


100% of donations will go toward Fisher House, which provides a “home away from home” for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury; and Wounded Warrior Project, which serves military service members who incurred service-connected wounds, injuries, or illnesses on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. Swag:          First 500 runners to register for either the half marathon or the 10K receive a fully embroidered commemorative running cap.  Half-marathon participants receive a commemorative dri-fit shirt, finisher’s medal and socks. 10K participants include a commemorative T-shirt, finisher’s medal and socks. Awards will also be provided to runners in various age groups and categories for both the Half Marathon and 10K.
