The Sisters Rosensweig is the story of Sara Goode, an enormously successful American woman working in London, about to celebrate her fifty-fourth birthday, but her quiet, expatriate life is about to be interrupted by a visit from her two sisters. As if that weren’t enough, her daughter announces a trip to Lithuania as a political protest. Unexpected guests arrive, leading to romance, recriminations and, above all, newfound love and acceptance.

Directed by Cynthia Emmer and produced by Gregory Carl Smith, The Sisters Rosensweig features the acting talents of Clint Bramkamp (Cincinnati), Kenneth Klem (Covington), Amy Sullivan (Anderson), Renee Maria (Milford), Angela Klocke Forbes (Fort Thomas), Karra Robinson (Florence), Peter Merten (Clifton), and Michael Gunter (Ft. Wright). The stage manager is Denise Knox.

Mel Gussow in The New York Times called Wasserstein’s comedy a “captivating look at three uncommon women and their quest for love, self-definition and fulfillment. But underlying the comedy is an empathetic concern for the characters and…prospects of women today.”  The play was hailed by critics for its ground-breaking focus on the lives of three middle aged women. It earned Wasserstein both an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Tony Award nomination for best play in 1993. Wasserstein won the Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award for The Heidi Chronicles in 1989.  During her long career, Ms. Wasserstein authored novels, books of essays, and eleven plays, and earned many awards for her work. Wendy Wasserstein died in 2006 at the age of fifty-five.
