Salons Making a Difference: Elements Salon Partners with J Beverly Hills of WI

GREEN BAY, Wis. - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- At Elements, we are proud to have been in business for 12 years.  Owning a Salon with 33 team members has been a constant learning experience.  We have sustained growth throughout the years because we are always asking ourselves, how can we make our business better?  Whether it is educational classes to stay ahead of trends, or increasing the customer experience when they walk in the door, we are constantly changing to improve our business.

Along with our current business motto, we have been inspired to be a Salon that makes a difference in our local community.  We want to help people in need throughout Green Bay and its surrounding areas.  After all, one of the greatest rewards of success is having the ability to help others.  This is our goal.

Something that hit close to home for us, is the sad truth, childhood cancer is the #1 cause of disease related death for children.  In fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined.  1 in 300 boys, and 1 in 330 girls, will develop cancer by the age of 20.  Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes.  Each year, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer.  When a child is sick, the entire family is affected.  We chose to support a local foundation called FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER.  Here are the reasons why:

No salaries are paid to this foundation.
100% of our donations directly benefit children with cancer in Northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.
FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER supports families dealing with this difficult situation through activities, family outings, financial assistance, etc.
They provide helpful kits when their child is diagnosed, including education on cancer, gas cards, hospital information, support groups, etc.
They also have toys and treats for the children with cancer, before and after, they receive treatments.

Another thing about this charity is that they only host one fundraiser per year, the GOLD RIBBON RUN.  This is a 2 and 5 mile run and the proceeds support the FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER.  Following the race, they have a ceremony, balloon release, and parents will share words about their child who they lost to cancer.  They use this money, from the fundraiser, to pay for scholarships for cancer survivors, family outings, financial assistance for the families, and much more.  The race will be held on July 27, 2013 and they are in need of volunteers.  You can count on the Elements team to attend this event.

Here is how we are supporting this foundation:

March 18th-April 30th, we are asking people to drop off any NEW game to Elements Salon and we will donate this to the FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER.
We have partnered with our J Beverly Hills Distributor.  WHEN YOU DONATE YOUR NEW GAME, WE WILL GIVE YOU A $10 J BEVERLY HILLS GIFT FROM ELEMENTS SALON.
We have also partnered with  the Mark & Mary Peterson Family Foundation.  Supporting children, in need, is a priority for them, and they are DONATING $5 FOR EVERY GAME THAT IS DONATED... THANK YOU!
50% of the games will be donated to the children with cancer at St. Vincent hospital.  
The other 50% of the games will be given to the families, along with their informational bag, when they find out their child has been diagnosed.
The cash donation will pay for their group fishing trip for the children with cancer and their families on August 3rd, 2013.

We ask the help of anyone who reads this article to donate any new game to Elements Salon, receive a $10 J Beverly Hills gift, and the Mark and Mary Peterson Family Foundation will donate $5 per game to the FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER.  Don't have time to pick up a game?  Elements Salon will have games available for purchase at their salon.  Help us make a difference in our community!
