Harrisburg University To Freeze Tuition for 2013-2014 Academic Year

HARRISBURG, Pa. - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Interim President Eric Darr today announced a freeze of tuition for the 2013-14 school year, keeping the school's tuition nearly $6,000 below the average for private universities in Pennsylvania and more than $8,700 below the national average for private universities.

“The pursuit of a college degree can be financially challenging and our decision to hold the line on college tuition for current or new students is a decidedly bold move in a climate where higher education costs continue to increase. When compared to other private colleges in Pennsylvania, Harrisburg University stands out as an affordable choice for a quality education,” says Darr.

Today’s announcement keeps University annual tuition at $23,900 for full-time undergraduates and full-time graduate tuition at $19,500 for the second year.

“While Harrisburg University is expanding its enrollment and locations, we are committed to holding the line and keeping education affordable,” says Robert Dolan, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Attending a private university is a rewarding experience, but the perception of many Americans is that it isn’t attainable. We want to show students and their families that earning your degree at Harrisburg University is affordable.”

Additionally, the University offers a generous program of need-based and merit financial aid, and more than 98 percent of students receive some form of financial aid.
