Pianist Jade Simmons Hosts 2013 Cliburn Competition Webcast & Launches Jam-Packed Social Media Blitz

May 11, 2013 - PRLog -- The web-savvy concert pianist Jade Simmons, who in addition to performing has been recognized for her innovative use of social media, is set to launch a social media blitz that will give viewers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes taste of the Cliburn experience. Simmons returns after a successful run as the competition's first-ever webcast host in 2009, followed by a 2011 stint in St. Petersburg as host of the Violin Division of the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Russia. In both instances, she introduced all the performances and conducted live interviews with renowned figures in classical music including the late Van Cliburn, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Menahem Pressler, the Takács Quartet, James Conlon, Fred Child, John Corigliano and journalist Bob Schieffer. This official extension of the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition webcast will harness the power of established platforms as well as the growing popularity of SoundCloud, Instagram, Pinterest and Google +.
