The Bear Creek School presents Fiddler on the Roof

REDMOND, Wash. - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- (Redmond, WA) – The Bear Creek School Fine and Performing Arts Department is performing the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof April 19 and 20 to honor faith, family and tradition. Produced once every four years by the Fine and Performing Arts Department, musicals allow students from the drama, music, and choir departments to collaborate on stage.  Unique to Bear Creek, the nearly 90 student actors and musicians rehearse during the school day as part of their arts curriculum. Under the direction of Dr. Ron Lynch, Fiddler on the Roof features specially created stage and set design including a whimsical take on the 1905 Russian Jewish village setting with a surprise use of black light paint for the dream scene.

Fiddler Fun Facts
The Bear Creek School production of Fiddler on the Roof was made possible because of the dedication and commitment of over 90 students, six dedicated Fine and Performing Arts Faculty, and countless friends of Bear Creek who collectively rehearsed, memorized, created, and accomplished the following:

·         2500 lines of script,

·         100 pages of dialogue,

·         20 scenes,

·         innumerable set changes,

·         2285 measures of orchestra music,

·         420 page turns per show,

·         150 cups of coffee consumed while arranging the music,

·         40 hours of choreography,

·         150 hours of set construction and painting (including 10 gallons paint, 435 screw, and 275 linear feet of lumber),

·         100 hours of costume creation (including 1500 yards of fabric, 150 miles of string, and 1 million stitches sewn),

·         scores of memories,

§  much laughter; and, a few tears!

About The Bear Creek School

Founded in 1988, in Redmond, Washington, The Bear Creek School is an Independent Classical Christian School that believes only when faith, mind and heart are fed together can we experience the fullness of education, which produces leaders who think well and are compelled to engage the world.
