BOSTON - April 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The Xaverian Missionaries have ministered in the Archdiocese of Boston for over 60 years. At this sad time we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims of the violent acts in Boston and offer our utmost support to all those affected by this tragedy.

This past weekend at our Fatima Shrine in Holliston MA we co-sponsored an interfaith panel presentation on overcoming violence in our world together with Pax Christi Metro West.  Each tradition represented at the event, Sikh, Islam and Christianity, responds to the threat of violence in the same way: through faith, prayer, community, action and outreach. We come together to affirm our commitment to peace and solidarity as one family.

During times such as this, it is our common humanity that holds us together in a shared vision for a better world in which there will be NO more violent acts. We, Xaverians, offer ourselves, our abilities and our facilities at the service to all people in the Boston area as we struggle together to heal our community.
