Comma on Hillsborough’s Last Fridays Art Walk: Features Durham Artist Steven R. Miller

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - April 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Hillsborough, N.C.- April 18, 2013 – Comma, the Hillsborough-based strategic marketing company is kicking off its participation in the 2013 the Hillsborough Art Walk series by featuring paintings by Steven Ray Miller, Durham Magazine’s 2012 Best Artist. The walk is part of the Last Fridays celebration, sponsored by The Hillsborough Arts Council. On Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. Miller will be on hand to greet visitors and talk about his art. Miller’s work features original reverse acrylic paintings on multiple layers of stacked glass, which effectively brings the background to the front. “Painting in reverse is challenging,” Miller says. “You put the finishing touches on first; if you don’t get it right the first time, you don’t get a second chance.” This is Miller’s first time displaying glass paintings, most of which will be floral subjects.
The pieces at Comma are part of Miller’s Art with Hearts series, a collection featuring small hidden hearts throughout the artwork. “The Art with Hearts works are really interesting; people like looking for the hidden hearts and will be intrigued by the layers of glass,” says Miller.
