Karen Stands Out For Genesis Charity

April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Business coach, mentor and author Karen Williams is Standing Out for the Genesis Research Trust.

On 27 April Karen is running a Breakthrough to Success charity event at The Lounge in Fareham. Participants will learn how to break through the blocks in their life so that they can face new challenges or do something different. They will also discover how mindset affects success and be able to set exciting and challenging goals. Finally the event offers the opportunity to do an empowering board break.

Karen from Portsmouth is also a firewalk instructor and can teach people how to bend metal poles and snap arrows with their neck too. She became involved in raising funds for Genesis through a friend. The charity supports the largest UK-based collection of scientists and clinicians who are researching the causes and cures for conditions that affect the health of women and babies. Karen also has family and friends who have had fertility problems so the charity has a personal connection too.

In September she is doing a trek to Machu Picchu for the Genesis Trust. Karen knows this will be very challenging. She has been doing lots of training, but has also gained confidence by realizing that when she does things outside her comfort zone, such as the skydive she did last year, she adopts strategies that she’s learned can also help in business. Many of these strategies are incorporated within Karen’s latest book ‘How To Stand Out In Your Business’ 7 Steps to Success.

Karen’s latest book ‘How To Stand Out In Your Business’   urges entrepreneurs to stand out from the crowd and increase their business success.  

‘I’ve noticed over the years, that many small business owners struggle to stand out. Karen from Portsmouth has used these strategies to help grow her own business, ‘And I’ve enjoyed every step of the way,’ she adds. ‘I worked for over 15 years in the corporate world in training, management and Human Resources roles and understand what organisations and individuals want. I’ve also interviewed dozens of hugely successful top performance coaches and solopreneurs and help others utilise what I’ve learned from the experts.’  

Karen is also a speaker and holds the annual Star Biz conference. An empowering firewalk challenge was one of the highlights of last year’s event. Luckily Karen is also a firewalk instructor.  

In 2012, she participated in a project called ‘A Year To Live.’ For this, Karen completed a skydive raising money for the Genesis Research Trust and went skiing for the first time.

Karen’s third book will build on these experiences and feature stories from the author and others with the aim of inspiring us all to Live Our Best Lives. ‘It’ll be a book that will make you laugh and cry.’ Karen remarks, ‘I hope readers will realise that life is too short to be put things off and live a life they don't enjoy.’ That book is due out later this year.

Her first book The Secrets of Successful Coaches was published in 2011.
