Dickey said, “Bryan-College Station currently has one of the highest rates of uninsured individuals in the state making the role of Health For All particularly important. I am excited about working with the Health for All team to assure that we make care accessible for all, assuring that the care is the right care at the right time in the right place, and working as a member of the community of healthcare providers to improve the cost effectiveness of the care provided in this region. Health for All has long been a gem in our community and I am honored to involved as they take on the even larger challenges of being a medical home for those most in need.” The organization is excited to have someone so supremely qualified to fill the role as medical director of the nearly 27-year-old free clinic. Dr. Dickey has plans to expand existing programs and offer new services to provide more comprehensive care to our patients. Health For All is a nonprofit clinic providing free health care and medications to low income uninsured patients in the Brazos Valley who do not qualify for government programs such as Medicaid or Medicare. The clinic is able to deliver services at a very low cost thanks to a small staff and a large number of volunteers and community partners. By providing an alternative to expensive emergency room visits by the uninsured, Health For All saves hospitals and taxpayers millions of dollars per year. The clinic’s funding comes from local donors who live and/or do business in the Brazos Valley.
