CITY
City slick in Spain’s City of Museums – Malaga
Located in Malaga’s historic centre, near Plaza de la Merced and Picasso’s birthplace and gallery, Apartment Cervantes (property ref – 12970) is positioned amidst Malaga’s city sights. The modern one-bedroom city-centre apartment has smart parquet flooring and a stylish interior. Known by locals as the ‘City of Museums’, Malaga is home to 29 different museums which showcase everything from wine and cars to dolls houses and contemporary art. Alternatively, if museum-going sounds a little like hard work, Malagueta beach is an easy ten-minute walk from the apartment. A four-night stay in June costs from £240 total or £120 pp (two sharing). Flights (nearest airport – Malaga) extra.

RURAL FARMSTAY
Alpacas in Andalucía – Cordoba
For something different, how about a stay on an alpaca farm, situated in the olive groves near Cordoba? With the three-bedroom apartment (property ref – 17076) as your base, you’ll be a short distance from Montoro, a charming town on the River Guadalquivir, and just 45 minutes’ drive from historical Cordoba. Formerly an olive mill, the apartment is traditional in style, with white-washed walls and tiled floors, and there’s also a small swimming pool. Guests are welcome to join in on the farm; feeding and walking the alpacas and collecting eggs from the five resident hens. A week’s stay in June costs from £300 total or £50 pp (six sharing). Flights (nearest airports – Seville/Malaga) extra.

SEASIDE
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside – Costa del Sol
Set right on the beach in Costabella near Marbella, this three-bedroom beachfront villa (property ref – 7814) offers uninterrupted views of both sea and sand. Sliding doors open out onto a terrace, whilst a roof terrace – complete with sun beds – provides further views. There’s no need to tear yourself away from the beach for long either; pop-up restaurants and traditional chiringuitos (beach bars) are within a short walk, offering sardines cooked over an open fire and refreshing drinks, and there’s also a bakery and supermarket within walking distance. The villa itself is airy and open-plan, with air-conditioning in all of the bedrooms. A week’s stay in June costs from £2,385 total or £298 pp (eight sharing). Flights (nearest airport – Malaga) extra.

NATIONAL PARKS AND HILLS
Rock pools and hills – Catalonia and the Pyrenees
Recently renovated and located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Can Cruanyes (property ref – 3130) is a Catalonian farmhouse set in 20 acres of woodland and paddocks. Made up of three individual apartments – complete with shared gardens, a BBQ area and a large enclosed swimming pool – the property is positioned within Garrotxa National Park – well placed for hikes and with some superb views. Forage in the grounds for wild herbs, mushrooms and asparagus, or head to some secluded rock pools nearby for a refreshing dip. A week’s stay in June costs from £460 total or £115 pp (four sharing). Flights (nearest airport – Barcelona) extra.

LAKESIDE
Lazy days and lake views – Arenas del Rey, Andalucía
Perched amid a cluster of pine trees, on the edge of the pretty Los Bermejales lake near Arenas del Rey, sits La Yesera (property ref – 10381) – a villa consisting of a duo of one-bedroom apartments (each sleeping up to five).
