Owning a historic home is a life style choice and we hope Historic American Homes becomes an inspiration to owners and prospective owners across the country,” said Amy Lawson, President. The Society will be providing an array of member benefits for each of the membership categories. Educational opportunities for owners and other interested audiences will include historic travel itineraries and feature member owned and operated inns and bed and breakfasts. By developing strong ties with local historical societies and museum properties, the Society seeks to provide an unmatched and vibrant community of preservationists, historians, home owners and vendors. Acclaimed author and photographer, Nell Dickerson added “America’s irreplaceable treasures, her historic homes, need a strong voice. I’m so pleased to see the Society for Historic American Homes answering this call.” The Society for Historic American Homes was founded in direct response to the need for a national membership organization for home owners, to educate and advocate for the preservation of historic homes and to inspire ownership and sound stewardship of these endangered national treasures.
