OAKLAND, Calif. - May 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Resonant Sound GearĀ© headphones began as a concept that came from the desire to create something more visually and functionally innovative than what was currently on the music accessories market.

"It was my way of making something combining my interest in Graffiti, Music and Digital Art." Says J.

The "Graf" headsets are launching on Kickstarter May 7th 2013 and successful funding in the amount of $20,000 will help J get his company, Resonant Sound GearĀ©, off and running. A successful campaign also means more of these stylish, high quality and completely high-tech, 3D printed, American-manufactured headsets can be made for people who want high-end, impeccable sound quality, and uniquely stylized accessories for their music listening experience.

The Kickstarter campaign is now live at:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/resonantsoundgear/resonant-sound-gear-graffiti-headphones-the-first, and the company is seeking funding for the first 50 prototype sets.

J's pursuit of quality and aesthetics led him to connect with industrial designers and well known graffiti artists like Nathan Tan (Nate 1 MPC) of New Skool and 1AMsf.  "After my initial design I wanted an industrial designer's input. Nate1 liked the concept and worked on improvements to take it to the best possible production level.  Hearing that from a Graffiti Artist and teacher was a huge boost." says J.

In a "totally 21st Century manufacturing experience", the first parts of the model were 3D printed through Shapeways and the Graffiti Piece was laser cut into Silicone rubber by Ponoko.  "I even took some classes at Techshop to learn to solder just to get the prototype working." Says J.

As many product and technology projects have proven successful, Kickstarter was the natural platform to launch a community driven and innovative product like 3D printed headphones. As J explains, "Kickstarter allows me to get the product right into the hands of people who will love it. It made the most sense for something like this, a really unique niche product with a lot of potential."

The First Set of Headphones, The "Graf" Model, goes live on Kickstarter on May 7th, 2013. To contribute to Resonant Sound Gear's campaign and be one of the first 50 people to own a "Graf" headset, please go to:
