ACTE announce global 3G, Java™ enabled Cinterion® EHS6 wireless M2M module from Gemalto

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - May 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Destined as one of the new flagship Gemalto M2M products, Cinterion® EHS6 is the 5th generation of Java embedded machine to machine (M2M) modules. EHS6 enables Systems Integrators and OEM’s to embed highly efficient, field proven, end to end industrial wireless communications solutions in third party or own build electronic equipment.

Based on a powerful ARM11 architecture to reduce complexity and speed application integration, the tiny EHS6 module offers the latest Java ME 3.2 client runtime platform optimised for resource constrained M2M applications. A large 6MB RAM and 8 MB flash file system is on board allowing extensive application code development to be stored on board the EHS6 module.

Measuring just 27.6x25.4x2.3mm, the LGA mounted EHS6 operates on 5 (800, 850, 900, 1900 and 2100MHz) UMTS /3G bands and quad band (850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz) GSM/GPRS bands allowing global 3G and 2G connectivity with data speeds of up to 7.2Mbps downstream and 5.7Mbps upstream.

Full control is via AT commands, which includes TCP/IP stack access, whilst other secure connections for client IP services are supported, as are internet services such as TCP/UDP server/client, DNS, FTP client and HTTP client.

Operating on a voltage range of 3.3 – 4.5V, EHS6 is highly optimised for minimal power consumption, which includes just 1.35A peak power in 900MHz 2G mode. Being a true industrial product, EHS6 allows full functioning operation at -40 to 90˚C. As with all Cinterion® wireless M2M modules from Gemalto, EHS6 is R&TTE, GCF, CE, FCC, PTCRB, IC and UL approved.
