PARK CITY, Utah - May 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Lucky Penny Press, the innovative publisher of eBooks for children, announces the launch of an engaging eBook by Park City author Ken Jacquin. Madddie Goes to France tells the delightful tale of a dog who goes to live on a French farm when her family moves to England and doesn’t have the heart to put her in quarantine.
First-time author Jacquin—a partner with Dolphin Capital Group in his regular life—says the book was born out of his love for a dog, and also reflects the adventures his family had on their visits to Maddie during her “semester abroad.”

“Maddie is a book that appeals to pet-lovers,” Jacquin says, “and what child is not one?  It also relieves the anxiety of kids who have to be separated from their animals for a while. It lets them know that their pet will survive the separation—and maybe even have a good time, like Maddie did.”

Jacquin says his family developed a love for France and the French culture as a result of their visits to Maddie. He believes “that any traveler who has felt the warmth of locals in a small town will appreciate that aspect of the story.

“I truly believe that travel helps us grow as human beings,” he says. “If I can share that love through a story, hopefully I'm making a contribution.”

Melissa Marsted, founder and president of Lucky Penny Press, is delighted to partner with Jacquin in bringing Maddie’s story to the world.

“Utah is our adopted home,” she explains. “Lucky Penny Press incorporated here, and we are proud to be part of the local community.”

As demonstration of that commitment, Lucky Penny Press is sponsoring the district-wide K-12 Wasatch Back Student art exhibition (http://www.kimballartcenter.org/upcoming-exhibitions/) at the Kimball Art Center, April 27-May 27. LPP is also partnering with Park City High School’s new CAPS (http://parkcitycaps.com/)—Center for Advanced Professional Studies—program, which challenges high schools students to solve real-life business challenges—for high school credit—while still in school. And Lucky Penny Press plans to publish three eBooks of ABCs with Treasure Mountain Junior High School teacher, Michele Dieterich. A dollar from the sale of each of those books will support the art programs there. Similarly, a dollar from each of Maddie book sales in English and Spanish will go to support the Park City Education Foundation (http://www.pcef4kids.org/), dedicated to enhancing academic achievement here in Park City.

“The mission of Lucky Penny Press is ‘nurturing the creative spirit,’” Marsted says. “There are so many ways to do that because people have so many unique talents and gifts. It’s gratifying to be part of that effort.”

Now that Maddie’s first book is live, author Jacquin has sequels in the pipeline (Maddie Goes to England and Maddie Gets a Sister, for starters).

Like all Lucky Penny Press titles, Maddie Goes to France is available for immediate download from the publisher’s website: www.luckypennypress.com. It will soon be available as an audio book (Jacquin’s 13-year-old son, Max, will do the recording). Maddie is currently available in Spanish (Maddie Va a la Francia), and will soon be available in French, as well.

The books are downloadable in a variety of eReader formats including those for the iPads, iPhones, Kindles, Nooks, MP3 players, and any computer. Every eBook can be downloaded in eReader and audio format either as a package, or separately.
