The Cadillac Super Cruise System Promises Safe Automated Driving

Super Cruise is capable of a number of previously unheard of feats. The system can follow lanes and maintain speed without any hands on the wheel. It can also apply brakes and accelerate in line with the flow of traffic. It uses a number of sensors, which include cameras, radar, and GPS. The idea is to allow the driver to relax on freeways, in stop-and-go traffic, and on long drives.

The driver will still have to pay attention in order to accommodate unexpected things like construction, weather, and when there are no reliable lane markings.
