First Graduation Commencement and Gala on May 18th

ENCINITAS, Calif. - May 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Join us on May 18th for “One World, One Night” – the 2nd Annual President’s Gala – an evening of celebration in support of our educational programs.(stkathgala.com) The event will take place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, with international dining and live music, an international automobile exhibit and much more. This is the College’s fundraising event.

10News This Morning, 10News Midday Co-Anchor Kaushal Patel will emcee the upcoming Gala event on May 18th bringing with her a substantial experience of international news coverage.

Patel joined CNN International (CNN’s international English language network watched by more than 200 million international viewers in more than 200 countries) in 2008, initially anchoring from CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and then from Hong Kong doing a daily 2-hour, sometimes 3-hour, single-anchor international news show.

Returning to the States in early 2010 and desiring to settle in California, she joined Channel 10 in September 2010. Kaushal is now the co-anchor of 10News This Morning and 10News Midday with veteran broadcaster Bill Griffith.

The Honorable Mark Wyland will Present the Keynote Address at the upcoming Gala event. Senator Wyland grew up in the City of Escondido. He earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Pomona College, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees. After college Senator Wyland received a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Europe. Subsequently, he was appointed an International Fellow at Columbia University, where he earned an M.A. in Political Science. After briefly working for the City of New York, he returned to Escondido and worked at his family's lumber and building materials business, where he worked his way up and eventually became a co-owner. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the California Senate Standing Committee on Education.
