Follow on Google News | A New Book Chronicles the Best of Times - Life in the United States After WWII“Hell Raiser to Hall of Famer: Best of Times” wins praise of critics and readers alike. A courageous, daring piece of literature ... a pleasant surprise to say the least ... funny ... clean ... candid ... open and honest ... priceless.
Although this is a self-written autobiography, Aiken’s work doesn’t read like a reality show, the author is funny—and not in a Chelsea Hander degrading-disgusting- Mr. Aiken has done a lovely job of portraying his hilarious and uplifting life as a child growing up in Colorado Springs on the blank page. The only thing that could have made this book better is more substance, some of the stories included felt short and to the point with little development. For many readers, bonding with characters is important—and you will not get a lot of that from Aiken. Regardless, his biography is short, to-the-point, funny, and memorable. Palmetto Book Review #1 I enjoyed reading, From Hell Raiser to Hall of Famer: Best of Times written by Thomas J. Aiken. The genre is autobiography written. I am a baby boomer and this book took me back to the times when I was growing up. Aiken’s memories of his youth were described in details that vividly took you into the intimate details of his youth. The author made me feel as if I were sitting in a room with him and listening to him talk about his life’s story. Aiken helped me relate to my youth and some of the experiences I had and some experiences I saw. I believe this book would be a great book for every age to read because it describes main street America during the post World War II era. Palmetto Book Review #2 What readers are saying . . . I wish the story would never end. His account and writing style are terrific. You convinced me it was the “Best of Times” to be alive. Thanks for the grand look back. From Hell Raiser to Hall of Famer: Best of Times is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and through other booksellers. 13-Digit ISBN: 9781929882885, USA $13.95. End
