JWOWW and Miss California USA 2013 Crown San Diego Resident as Miss iTAN 2013

VISTA, Calif. - May 15, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday, April 27, the Jersey Shore dust settled across San Diego as MTV star, tanning guru and author, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley crowned San Diego resident, Brooke Mollring, as Southern California’s Miss iTAN 2013 at iTAN Sun Spray Spa’s sixth annual Miss iTAN 2013 event, held at Stingaree in The Gaslamp.

Miss iTAN is an annual lifestyle competition sponsored by iTAN to find a fresh, new face to represent the brand while promoting a balanced and confident lifestyle throughout Southern California.

In addition to putting forth their best tan in bold and bright-colored bikinis, contestants from across San Diego and Riverside counties also showcased their knowledge of how to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, as they responded to questions from host, Jamie Hanawalt, and the Miss iTAN 2013 judges.

The judging panel comprised of five talented and tan-savvy individuals:

• Jenni “JWOWW” Farley – MTV star, beauty guru, and author
• Mabelynn Capeluj – Miss California USA 2013
• Irina Kharsa – iTAN Founder
• Elizabeth Hansen – Miss iTAN 2012
• Kamron Fariba – iMAN 2012

The Miss iTAN 2013 contestants were selected through an online Facebook contest on iTAN’s Facebook Page. The Online Winner, Cristal Lee Harper, was selected by a public vote in early April. Harper was crowned the title, Miss iTAN Online, at the Miss iTAN 2013 event and received one year of unlimited Sun Spray Spa services
in addition to becoming an iTAN Brand Ambassador. Harper competed amongst the contestants for the title of Miss iTAN 2013 and placed as a finalist.

Breaking Miss iTAN tradition, the judges selected six finalists to continue to the second round instead of the customary – five.

The six finalists included:

• Brooke Mollring – Miss iTAN 2013
• Cristal Lee Harper – Miss iTAN Online
• Casey Lee – 1st Runner Up
• Hayley Ambriz – 2nd Runner Up
• Carla Valdiserri
• Kahtija Popovic

Miss iTAN 2013, Brooke Mollring, 21, is a junior in college, attending San Diego State University with a future towards Dental Hygiene. A Long Beach native, she was raised between Maui, Hawaii and El Dorado Hills, California. She currently lives the self-described “Southern California lifestyle”, in College Area near the SDSU campus. Miss iTAN 2013 isn’t the first title Mollring has earned. While growing up in Maui, she won the title of Little Miss Hawaiian Tropics 1995. “In the future, I want to share my way of living a healthy, positive lifestyle with others,” said Brooke Mollring, Miss ITAN 2013. Mollring received $1,000 cash plus one year of unlimited Sun Spray Spa services, in addition to becoming the new, featured face of iTAN.

The Miss iTAN 2013 competition comprised of several talented and well-spoken ladies.

“We selected Brooke Molling as Miss iTAN 2013 because she best embodied the values of Miss iTAN,” said Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, “We were impressed by her confidence, her ability to work the stage, and her knowledge of tanning. She is secure in her skin, intelligent and beautiful inside and out.”

The Miss iTAN 2013 event, dubbed by Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/article/miss-itan-2013-to-be-crow...) as a “wall-to-wall celebrity” boasted several hundred local, as well as out-of-town guests.

“iTAN is doing so much for the tanning industry,” said Farley, “and they are just getting started!”

In July, all eyes will turn to the men of Southern California, as male residents across San Diego and Riverside Counties will compete for the title of iMAN 2013 at iTAN Sun Spray Spa’s fourth annual iMAN 2013 event.
