Slantress Magazine to host The Inspire Awards

May 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The SLANTRESS “Inspire” Awards is an award ceremony to recognize the work, triumphs and courage of Black women across the nation. The event will acknowledge 20 different women in 20 diverse categories as well as encouraging and inspiring every woman to make a difference.The event will showcase performing talents and provide the well-deserved notoriety of the women that have actually appeared in the various issues of the SLANTRESS magazine along with many others who have put in the work and never recognized. The sole focus of the ceremony is to inspire and uplift the spirits of women and give notice to the positive movement happening amongst them.

Ann Nesby will be opening the Slantress "Inspire"Awards event with one of her Sounds of Blackness Grammy award winning songs! Baltimore's very own La Dawn Black will be the MC for the night. The event will include a night of celebration, entertainment and fashion extravaganza. Tarralyn Ramsey from NBC's The Voice, 9 year old orator Nalani Madison Hast, Fashion by Michael Taylor musical performances by Heaven Sent and much more.

Nominees will be awarded thorughout the night in catogories like Motivational Speakers, Community Service,  Non-Profit Organization, Business Woman, L'il Miss Slantress and more. Walter is an energetic and enthusiastic individual. He thinks big, aims high and normally hits his target. His tenacious spirit has been his driving force in his career successes. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and is a graduate of Dunbar High School. He also holds a master degree in Human Services, which supports his current position as Director of Operations in the Human Services industries.
