Follow on Google News | Beauty School Rocks Gets Boost from Singer and Reality Star Bret MichaelsRock musician and singer/songwriter star Bret Michaels is partnering with ITS Academy of Beauty students throughout Texas and Oklahoma to provide partial scholarships to individuals who are interested in an education in cosmetology.

Michaels said he admires creative men and women with an entrepreneurial spirit and the partial scholarships are one way to help provide prospective students with the help they may need to begin their cosmetology training. Michaels has worn many hats since his successful career as the lead singer of the glam metal band, Poison. He is an actor, director, screenwriter, producer and the winning contestant of Celebrity Apprentice 3. He is a successful reality television personality and will launch his latest project, Rock My RV on the Travel Channel on May 26. In addition to the scholarships, Michaels is also joining the cosmetology school students and staff in the fight against breast cancer by replacing their uniforms with breast cancer awareness shirts with the Beauty School Rocks logo. Michaels said for every shirt sold $4 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Shirts can be purchased through the Beauty School Rocks website. To kick off the fundraising campaign 40 members laced up to form the school’s team, “Beauty School Rocks,” including Margie Wisniski, chief of operations of ITS Academy of Beauty and its affiliate schools throughout the U.S. Thirty men and women from the schools operated two booths at the race, one in the main expo and another in the kid’s area, and provided thousands of bags with free samples of shampoo and conditioner, coupons and a list of services at the award-winning cosmetology school. “Our “Beauty School Rocks” team is one of many ways Olympian University and our affiliate schools are championing causes that matter in our communities,” Students perform the services under the supervision of a licensed instructor. No appointment is necessary, however customers should call to allow enough time for all services to be performed. ITS Academy of Beauty provides students with a distinguished environment that mirrors many of the upscale salons that will employ the cosmetology students after they graduate and earn their cosmetology license.
