D'amore Law Lends Hand At Safe Kids Day At The Oregon Zoo

PORTLAND, Ore. - May 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorneys and staff from D'Amore Law Group recently volunteered at the 15th annual Safe Kids Day at the Oregon Zoo.

Held on May 4, this year's event was themed, "Be a Safety Hero," focusing on simple actions that can save lives -- such as wearing bicycle helmets, life jackets and seat belts.

Attorneys and staffers from D’Amore Law Group were on hand to help deliver prizes, fit bike helmets, and assist zoo guests. The firm also provided passes to local clients with children, and donated passes to refugee services clients at Lutheran Community Services Northwest and to the Portland Blazers Boys and Girls Club.

D’Amore Law Group was a sponsor of the event for Safe Kids Oregon, and made an additional donation to the Tom Sergeant Safety Center for the purchase of safety equipment.

Safety stations were scattered throughout the zoo to provide learning opportunities about calling 911, water safety, poison prevention, bike and helmet safety, fire and burn prevention, pedestrian safety, and other major risk areas for children.  Visitors who complete the 'Safety Safari' earned a prize.  

In total, some 500 bike helmets were distributed as prizes and zoo attendance was nearly 6,000 during the 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. event.
