Spirit of Peoria Riverboat Tour to be held by UIC College of Dentistry

CHICAGO - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- As part of a series of Centennial Year events for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry, the College will host a Spirit of Peoria Riverboat Tour on the Illinois River on Saturday, June 15, 100 Water St., Peoria, IL, 61602.
        Events will begin at 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. dockside cookout, and the Spirit of Peoria will cruise the river from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Drinks will be available. The theme will be “Tropical Rock & Roll for Your Soul and Jimmy Buffet Night.” The Caribbean-themed cruise will feature a Jimmy Buffet cover band. Price for the cruise, dinner, and drink package is $50 (plus tax).
        Alumni of the UIC, Loyola University, and Northwestern University dental schools, as well as alumni of other dental schools, spouses, guests, and friends, are welcome.

        Built in 1988, the Spirit of Peoria paddleboat recalls the riverboats of the Mark Twain era. The 160-foot-long vessel has four decks and is 475-feet tall. The paddle wheel is 21 feet in diameter, and the boat averages between seven and ten miles per hour.
