Wella Professionals Following Daniel’s success in the Scottish Regional Heat on 15th May, he is now one of only 36 UK hairdressers to reach this year’s UK & Ireland Final, making him one of the country’s most sought-after and in-demand professional hair colourists. Created to discover and acknowledge the industry’s most skilled hair stylists and colourists, the competition focuses on all aspects of hair styling and colouring, and the Photographic and Regional Heats are judged by some of the UK’s leading hair icons, including Rob Eaton-Russell Eaton, Dan Spiller-Marc Antoni, Mark Creed-Philosophy and Mark Woolley- Electric. Each year, Wella Professionals produces four key trend looks that are designed to inspire the competition. The Young Talent Category is open to stylists under 30 years old to showcase their styling, technical and finishing skills, whilst the Color Category gives colourists of any age the opportunity to express their creativity and put their colouring skills to the test. This year the four trends are Allegra, Fusion, Decibel and Echo entrants are asked to interpret one of the four trends with their own personal style. This annual four stage competition kicked off earlier this year with a Photographic Entry and Daniel Benson’s interpretation of Echo took him through to the Scottish Regional Final, representing Regis UK LTD, the parent company of Mops salons, where he showcased his chosen trend on a live model in a dazzling evening show. “I’m so proud to have reached the UK Final of such a prestigious competition. I’ve always had a huge passion for hair and I am very excited about taking part and competing against the best hairdressers in the country at the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award UK Final in October” says Daniel Benson. Now, Daniel will now have time to prepare for the Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award UK & Ireland Final, one of the industry’s biggest and most inspirational events. Due to take place on Monday 7th October at legendary cultural venue – the Roundhouse in London’s Camden - competitors will present in front of hundreds and be judged by the best in the industry for the opportunity to walk away with the ultimate accolade in hairdressing. Should Daniel be successful at the UK & Ireland Final, he will benefit from a dedicated mentoring programme which will then see them taking part during the International TrendVision Award, due to take place in Frankfurt in 2014.
