Verrado Tees Up To Pay Tribute

BUCKEYE, Ariz. - June 4, 2013 - PRLog -- After eight weeks of planning, organizing corporate sponsors, and collecting donations, everything came together on Monday, May 27 for a Memorial Day tribute in Buckeye, Ariz.

Inspired to do something to honor those in service and who have given their lives protecting their country, Tim McGinty, Verrado resident and Sales Associate at Verrado Realty (http://www.dmbrealtynetwork.com/verrado/), organized a day of golf for Active Duty Military from nearby Luke Air Force Base at the Raven Golf Club, the local community golf course. A total of 45 golfers, 15 Active Military, 60 sponsoring Raven members, and five corporate sponsors (Verrado Realty, Ciao Grazie, Napa Auto Parts Buckeye, Valley Golf and Sports Chalet) all played an important role to contribute to the day’s success. The event raised over $2,500 for the Wounded Warrior Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/).

Tim got the idea to do the event during a game of golf at the Raven when he heard jets soaring overhead. He looked up to see military aircraft coming to and from Luke Air Force Base and was compelled to do something.

Tim, along with friends and colleagues, worked together to invite airmen and women from Luke Air Force Base, reached out to Raven members to sponsor the military participants, and solicited funds from Verrado residents to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Tim also recruited his fellow agents at Verrado Realty to donate gift bags and volunteer at the event.

The event was a huge success and was well received by all who participated. The community plans to hold the golf event again next Memorial Day 2014.
