DanFoss TurboCor Hosts Internal Auditor CourseTurboCor was the host for a three day Internal Auditor Course sponsored by the North Florida/South Georgia section of ASQ. Twelve students attended the class which included classroom activities and audits of processes at the TurboCor facility. The instructor, Debra M. Hay Hampton, is a Certified Professional Trainer and a Certified Lead Auditor. She is a Senior Member of ASQ. For more information on the course go to www.ce-q.com.
With the focus of this class being auditing to ISO 9001, students learned the requirements of the standard and how to perform audits. They learned how to plan the audits, conduct audits, and write the audit reports. A 360 review was used to measure the performance of the students. Learning was by doing. After training, Internal Auditors were assigned processes and performed audits to determine if the processes were conforming to planned arrangements of the organization. Audits were conducted on actual processes within TurboCor. The course material followed the requirements for Internal Auditors that are published by RABQSA. RABQSA is the American and Australian organization of training and personnel certifications. The reviews of the course by the students showed the class was a great success. This was the second internal auditor course that has been sponsored by the South Georgia/North Florida section of ASQ. ASQ was established in the 1940s to foster learning and networking among quality professionals. The section has also sponsored Lean Six Sigma courses.
