Danielle Pinnock’s The Body Image Project will be opening for Debra Ehrhardt’s Jamaica Farewell at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City

New York, NY June 6, 2013– Playwright, director and actor Danielle Pinnock who created The Body Image Project (http://bodyimageprojectplay.com/), will be opening for Debra Ehrhardt’s Jamaica Farewell at the Soho Playhouse in New York City on June 15th, 2013 at 8 p.m..  The Body Image Project is a one-woman verbatim play in which Ms. Pinnock does a portrayal of the various people she has interviewed.  

The Body Image Project premiered and was performed in March 2013 at The Strawberry One-Act Competition in New York City, where it won the award for “Best Actress in a Performance.” The play also garnered a “Best Director” and “Best Play” nomination.

Danielle says “I am so excited to be performing at the Soho Playhouse and working with such a great production.  The Body Image Project is very special to me and this is just the beginning of this incredible journey that has begun to take form and shape.  We now have a blog and the response is overwhelming.”

Tim Duleavy, a Philadelphia theatre critic from Talking Broadway had this to say about Danielle’s performance in A Midsummer Night’s Dream “A lot of the laughs come from Danielle Pinnock, who throws herself into the (male) role of the actor Nick Bottom with energy to spare.”  CurtainUp’s, The Internet Theater Magazine of Reviews Kathryn Osenlund states, "Danielle Pinnock, a natural comedienne, is a marvel." Based on her award at the Strawberry One-Act Competition in New York City, Ms. Pinnock continues to deliver and shows promise in her career.

About our Creator:

Danielle Pinnock (Actor, Director & Playwright) born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to New Jersey at age 10. Her mother and grandmother raised her. She went to Temple University for her undergraduate career and received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Theatre with a concentration in Directing.

While attending Temple University she was cast in a verbatim theatre play at 18 years old called In Conflict, and it changed her life.  The show performed at the Long Wharf, Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and received an incredible run Off-Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre. Danielle found her passion and has just completed her Master’s in Acting from the Birmingham School of Acting in the United Kingdom, graduating with distinction honors.
