By the 1990's the field grew to 16 - 28 teams from across the country! In the year 2000, the classic was opened up to pro/am teams. Teams from; Houston, Memphis, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Nashville, Los Angeles. Notable NBA players, past and present who have attended include; Dominique Wilkins, Ron Harper, "Spud" Webb, Jimmy Jackson, Sam Perkins, Mark Aguirre, Thaddeus Young, Jarrett Jack, Andre Emmett, Trevor Booker, Quinton Ross, Greg Buckner, James Singleton, and Ac Law IV, Maurice Ager, Sean Williams and many more. It has become one of the top summer pro/am tournaments in the country! Receiving a vision from God, in 2008 Rev. Gary Dotson formed Black Like Me, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its goal is to assist and support HBCU's and young aspiring minorities to excel in higher learning and life. Part of the proceeds from the Fed X Basketball Classic benefit the Black Like Me HBCU college scholarship fund. Players Revolution Sports aims to work in compliment with the great event the Dallas Fed X Tournament offers, adding cash prizes, national tournaments, recruitment opportunities, PRTV, and much more to the product they already deliver, and bringing that straight to their players.
