Steinberg Law Group Adds Divorce Attorney, Bursts at Seams

The Steinberg Law Group (http://www.steinberglawgroup.com), an 18-year-old institution in Las Vegas, is growing by one divorce attorney.  August B. Hotchkin, a California native with a love of history and justice, has joined forces with Brian Steinberg and Jack Fleeman, two family law veterans.  

“We needed to grow,” Says Hillary Steinberg, marketing president and Brian’s wife.  “We promise guests that they’ll be able to meet with a divorce attorney (http://www.steinberglawgroup.com/divorce-litigation-contested/), not a paralegal.  We needed to grow to continue making that happen.”

Hotchkin attended the Golden Gate University of Law, attaining his Juris Doctorate, after which he passed the State Bar of California exam in 2011.  Immediately moving to Washoe County, Nevada, he also passed the State Bar of Nevada in 2012.  His undergraduate work at the University of California Santa Cruz focused on past events and their interpretations, functions, and lessons for today.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in history.

Why practice family law?  Hotchkin says his favorite aspect is ”understanding and appreciating the complex and delicate nature of relationships that are intrinsic in family law.”  Joining forces with attorney Brian Steinberg is certainly the right move towards these ends.  Steinberg, a self-proclaimed “child advocate,” is a wise veteran of Las Vegas divorces, custody battles, and mediations.  

“It is not always a happy business,” says Steinberg about family law.  Children can be used as currency in bitter divorce disputes, amiable couples can transform into fierce competitors, and friends can become enemies.  But it doesn’t have to happen this way.  The Steinberg Law Group often encourages mediation by an attorney over litigation, a solution that consistently yields more agreement, more friendship, more protected children, and every now and then, more repaired marriages.  “We do what we can to make our clients’ lives and circumstances better so they can move on with their lives.”

Hotchkin agrees.  He says: “Knowing that I can help alleviate some of the stressful emotional burdens so that people and their families can move forward for the better gives me a sense of purpose and pride as an attorney.”  It seems he’s found a home with the Steinberg Law Group.  

Now the only problem to be solved is space.  “We have three attorneys,” Says Hillary, “And two offices.  It looks like more growth ahead.”
