Mended Pieces, Hosts Detroit Women’s Summit

DETROIT - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Detroit, MI – June 10, 2013 – The stark reality is we all have some form of brokenness; it’s a part of life. Girls and women especially have broken pieces stemming from life experiences. The pressure to “fit-in” can be overwhelming for some. Children face bullying from their peers and it doesn’t just go away. Mended Pieces, a Grand Rapids based non-profit agency will host a Detroit Women’s Summit, “Dream Girls” on June 21-22, 2013 at Faith Tabernacle Worship Ministries 15416 W. Chicago, Detroit, MI 48228.

Executive Director of Mended Pieces, Erin Williams, holds a Masters of Counseling from Cornerstone University and a Masters of Theology from Oral Roberts University. She works as a mental health therapist for at-risk teen girls. “I started Mended Pieces when I began my journey of healing my own brokenness. I knew if I had a plethora of education and training and it was a journey for me, I couldn’t even fathom what was happening to other  girls/women who have no formal training, says Erin. The Detroit Women’s Summit is geared for girls ages 12 & up and women.

In order to heal our society we must begin healing the people, one step at a time. This conference will do just that.
