MASON, Ohio - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- MASON, OH - Demonstrating Ice Industries Deerfield's continuous drive towards manufacturing excellence, the facility today announced it had achieved ISO14001:2004 certification. The ISO14001:2004 certification indicates Deerfield employs an effective environmental management system, and demonstrates Ice’s commitment to both the environment and its customers.

ISO14001:2004 defines the criteria for an organization’s environmental management system. It can address a multitude of areas, including a reduction in energy usage, recycling resources ranging from metal to water, minimizing pollution of any kind, etc.

“Ice Industries has focused on being an environmentally friendly organization, and having Deerfield join its sister company Ice Industries Grenada in obtaining ISO14001 certified status is a large step in achieving recognition as being a preferred metal stamping facility in North America,” summarized Thomas Evans, Ice Industries Deerfield’s Quality manager.

Some examples of the facility’s recent environmental improvements are:
• improved control of storm water runoff;
• reduced electrical consumption;
• increased interactions with local and state environmental agencies; and,
• initiation of a multifaceted recycling program.

Many of the improvements help not only the surrounding area, but also enable Ice Industries Deerfield to continue offering their customers the best value possible.

“We always look for ways to get better,” stated Gene Swick, Ice Industries Deerfield’s General Manager. “Whether that’s reducing our environmental footprint, or adopting Six Sigma practices, Deerfield believes there is no such thing as ‘good enough.’”
