GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- On Tuesday, June 18, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute will host Nashville recording artist Michelle Murray at its Golden Valley location.  The visit is part of the “My Finish Line” national music and movie tour.  Murray will perform from 10-11 a.m. in the Atrium at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute – Golden Valley, (formerly Courage Center) at 3915 Golden Valley Road, in Golden Valley, Minn.

The tour stop is hosted by Albertville-based Cummings Mobility, a local leader in accessible vehicle conversions, and BraunAbility, a national leader in wheelchair accessible vans and a national sponsor of the “My Finish Line” tour. Both companies have been generous corporate donors to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in the past.

Murray and the tour shares the story of Indy Car driver Sam Schmidt, who was paralyzed in a crash on the track in 2000. Much of the film takes place on the racetrack, where Schmidt continues to live his passion for the sport of INDYCAR racing. In the years since his accident, Schmidt has not slowed down and continues to approach life with more energy than ever.  Murray was so inspired by Schmidt that she wrote a song called “It Won’t Be If, But When,” about his inspirational spirit. She has since become a spokeswoman for the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation.

The “My Finish Line” tour, sponsored in part by BraunAbility, will reach 50 states and more than 120 cities, much of it matching the 2013 IZOD INDYCAR racing schedule. The movie will premiere at 17 locations, and will be promoted during 14 INDYCAR race weekends. Murray will make more than 60 live music performances along the way.

During the performance at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Murray will perform a 20-minute music set and host a meet-and-greet with attendees, who can also get information about the Supporter program as well as purchase copies of Michelle’s CD and the film, “My Finish Line”.
