Top 20 Most Inspirational Artists of Hawaii, Honoring Those Encouraging Hawaii's Art Community

HONOLULU - June 12, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday, July 20th, 2013 at 6 PM, join twenty of Hawaii's top fine artists, photographers, sculptors, and innovators in a celebration of commitment to the local art community. Hosted at thirtyninehotel, an award-winning Chinatown mixed-media space, the Top 20 Most Inspirational Artists of Hawaii event will feature a special gallery presentation from honorees of the event, including live art and wall installations. Live music performances, a keynote address, and special surprises will make the evening one to remember. The Top 20 Most Inspirational Artists of Hawaii event is proud to benefit arts education for at-risk Hawaii youth through the continued efforts of Afterschool ART Hawaii (www.AfterschoolARTHawaii.org). Afterschool ART was founded by Dr. Bob Grossmann in 2004, after having the opportunity to be briefed by staff from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other public health agencies, when he served as a Fellow for then Secretary of Health, Donna Shalala (1995-1996). He has found that youth respond to programs that bring quality art supplies and professional artists to where the youth-at-risk live and learn.
