The Institute for Supply Management – New Jersey 2013 Walter Moon Award for John Hanna

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. - June 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Hillsborough, New Jersey, June 14, 2013 – The Institute for Supply Management – New Jersey (ISM - NJ) announces that Mr. John Hanna, Procurement Officer at MTA Capital Construction, is the recipient of its 2013 Walter Moon Award. The Walter Moon Award is presented to an ISM-NJ member who consistently demonstrated purchasing professionalism and who made outstanding contributions to the development and professional stature of the Association.

Considerations for honoree selection are:

• Demonstrate leadership and service on committees, at forums, membership meetings and other ISM-NJ activities with a diversity of responsibilities.

• Make contributions to published purchasing articles.

• Participate in scheduled committee, Board and membership meetings.

• Be an active member for a minimum of seven years.

The Award was presented to Mr. Hanna during ISM-NJ’s Crystal Awards Banquet in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Mr. John Hanna

Mr. John Hanna, is Procurement Officer for MTA Capital Construction.

Mr. Hanna is Past-President and former Director of Programs for ISM-NJ. He was first Vice President Business Development, and held that position for over five years, through 2013.

John Hanna’s accomplishments as the first ISM-NJ Vice President Business Development include:

·         Recognizing the need to expand scope of ISM-NJ beyond its membership

·         Establishing the Executive Advisory Council, engaging regional procurement executives

·         Increasing sponsorships through involving selected suppliers

·         Expanding school and student involvement. Mr. Hanna was instructor at Raritan Valley Community College.

·         Directing the evolution of the Trade Fair to a Trade Fair/Forum to the current annual Supply Management Forum

·         Directing the establishment of the Emerging Professionals Group

Mr. Hanna is stepping down as Vice President Business Development, and continues his active ISM-NJ engagement and leadership support as Trustee.

As the 2013 Walter Moon Award honoree, Mr. Hanna joins a prestigious list of past recipients:
