Chevrolet Has Unveiled the New 2014 Chevy Malibu Sedan

BRADENTON, Fla. - June 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Chevy recently unveiled the new Chevrolet 2014 Malibu (http://www.coxchevy.com/models/2014-chevrolet-malibu/) four-door sedan. Already a popular model thanks to its spacious interior and bold design, the new Malibu will have an even larger cabin, as well as styling and performance enhancements. When the new model is available later this year, drivers around Bradenton and Tampa will be able to find the 2014 Malibu at Cox Chevy.

“The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu builds on the strengths established by the all-new 2013 Malibu to make it a stronger choice for customers,” said Mark Reuss, president of General Motors North America. “The midsize sedan segment is the most contested in the industry and we’re not sitting still with the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.”

Changes to the new model include a new fascia inspired by the look of the brand-new Impala, an extra 1.25 inches of knee-room in the rear-seat. There is a retuned suspension providing better performance, a new 2.5L four-cylinder engine with better fuel economy , and14% more torque on the 2.0L turbo engine, increasing power to 295 lb-ft.

To create more room in the rear seat, Chevy redesigned how the front seats were engineered. Nearly an inch was trimmed off of the back of the seats, while still increasing driver and passenger comfort. The front seats are now deeper, allowing the driver and passenger to be seated more cozily.

The cabin also features a new center console with a long arm rest for increased comfort. The console also has two cup holders and two slots for cell phones.

Not much should change structurally, meaning that the 2013 model's Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety should carry over to the 2014 model year. Besides a sturdy cage and a system of advanced airbags, the current Malibu is available with active safety features like forward collision alert, a Stabilitrak stability control system, rear park assist, and a rear vision camera
