LAS VEGAS - June 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Acclaimed novelist and comic book writer Greg Rucka and fan-favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist Georges Jeanty are just a few of the many creators fans will be able to meet when the annual Vegas Valley Comic Book Fest returns to the Clark County Library (1401 E. Flamingo Road) for its sixth year on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A growing component of the annual Vegas Valley Book Festival, the Comic Book Fest is a free, one-day event celebrating comic books, sci-fi, fantasy and pop culture. Fans can peruse comics, toys and other merchandise at the many vendor booths in the courtyard marketplace, meet artists, writers and independent publishers in Artist Alley, participate in a fun-filled costume contest, attend panels and workshops, and enjoy tasty treats from local food trucks.

Once again, live music will also be a distinctive feature of the Comic Book Fest, as local geek-punk trio 3D6 and Memphis-based nerdcore rapper/internet sensation Adam Warrock take the stage inside the library’s main theater to perform songs based on comic books, gaming, television and more. As well, this year’s event will offer more activities for children, including superhero mask-making, face painting, and the return of our popular Art Jam.

Fans can upgrade their experience by pre-registering for a VIP package. For only $5, guests will receive a special VIP badge, swag bag filled with comics, art and other freebies donated by publishers and local businesses, preferred seating at panels, screenings and concerts, and a limited-edition poster, with all proceeds benefiting the Comic Book Fest. Registration is now open at www.vegasvalleycomicbookfestival.org and is limited to 100 packages.

Applications are also being accepted for vendors, artists and publishers wishing to exhibit in the marketplace or Artist Alley. Forms are available on the Comic Book Fest website, and if received by July 1, applicants will enjoy early-bird discounts. Space is very limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
