Chevy Vehicles Take Top Honors in Five Segments in J.D. Power and Associates Study

BRADENTON, Fla. - June 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Chevrolet, one of America's most popular brands, swept five categories in a recent Initial Quality Study by J.D. Power and Associates. This is more than any other brand. These awards highlight Chevrolet as one of the most trusted names in auto design and manufacturing.

Recipient vehicles included the 2013 Chevy Impala (http://www.coxchevy.com/models/chevrolet-impala/) in the Large Car category, the Tahoe in the Large CUV category, the Silverado HD in the Large Heavy-Duty Pickup category, the Chevy Camaro in the Midsize Sporty Car category, and the Chevy Avalanche in the Large Light-Duty Pickup Category.

Three other popular Chevrolet vehicles also made it into the top three of their respective segments. The Chevy Equinox ranked third in the Compact CUV category, the 2013 Chevy Spark (http://www.coxchevy.com/models/2013-chevrolet-spark/) took second place in the City Car category, and the Silverado LD ranked third in the Large Light-Duty Pickup category. The Initial Quality study polled over 83,000 new vehicle owners and lessees across all available vehicles for the 2013 model year after the first ninety-days of receiving of driving. The study focuses mainly on the quality of design, rather than manufacturing defects. This included ease of access to and use of onboard instruments, any roadside breakdowns, and other failures.

Chevy's attention to quality spans the entire scope of vehicle design, with safety always being a large focus. Six 2013 Chevy models were recipients of this year's “Top Safety Pick” award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Multimedia functions included in Chevrolet's MyLink system have given drivers access to handsfree calling, music streaming, vehicle diagnostics and more with a simple touchscreen operation. A touch-screen, voice commands, and steering-wheel mounted allows the driver to access these functions without taking focus from the road.
