Team of 3 India Champions will be representing India at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in Washington DC (USA) announced in the presence of 400+ excited attendees.
NEW DELHI – June 24th, 2013
India Champions in Microsoft Office applications were awarded and felicitated at a gala award evening of COMPUDON Season III organized this Saturday by CyberLearning, the official test delivery solution provider for the workforce and academic markets of India, and its principals – Certiport and Microsoft Learning. The exhaustive list of guests that included India finalists, their parents, and doyens of the corporate and academic worlds were witness to the dramatic culmination of what has now become a most anticipated and eagerly contested annual academic championship of international repute- the COMPUDON.
COMPUDON is a platform for students to showcase their mastery in using Microsoft Office applications. Eligible students from all states of India had competed for the title of “India Champions”.

The Winners of the championship were given medals and awards by the Chief Guest - Jeffrey Lewis from Certiport, USA  and and Guest of Honor, Pankaj Dikshit, Microsoft Academic Area Sales Lead for India. The 3 winners in Microsoft Office Word 2007, Word 2010 & PowerPoint 2007 also earned themselves an all expenses paid trip to the 2013 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship to be held in August 2013 in Washington DC, USA. The World Championship, organized by Certiport on an annual basis, will see participants from 60+ countries display their skills in Microsoft Office applications. Once again, it will be an opportunity for our India Champions to do India proud by bringing home the ‘World Cup in MS Office’.

The names of the India Champions are Kaustubh Nihal from Jagdamb College, Patna, Bihar for Word 2010, Ketan Mahajan from Maharaja Agrasen Model School, New Dellhi for Excel 2010, Sanat Sogani from Step by Step International School, Jaipur, Rajasthan for Power Point 2010, Saurab Khan from Government PG College Dausa, Rajasthan for Word 2007, Aditya Ganti from Meridian School Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh for Excel 2007 and Anmol Garg from Maharaja Agrasen Model School, New Delhi. The winners, cutting across demographics of geography and economic background, showcased the natural strength of Indians in computing.

“I have witnessed the Indian students who have come to the worldwide competition in last 2 years and am amazed with the life altering opportunities being created by this India wide championship. I wish the Season III India Champions to win at the Microsoft Office Specialist World championship in Washington DC and bring the world cup to India.” Said Jeffrey Lewis, VP, Certiport.

The institutes/schools that produced India Winners this year were also recognized for their role in nurturing top talent in Microsoft Office applications. All finalists got a group photograph taken in presence of the Chief Guest and other important dignitaries. The reason behind organizing the championship is the encouragement of Indian youngsters in their quest to equip themselves with the requisite computer skills that will help them get a head-start in their lives. The opportunity for Indian youngsters in the IT field are mammoth, provided the youngsters have the requisite set of skills, and competitions like these will help reinforce the importance of relevant and vocational IT education.
