The Jan and Jenny Books Took New York By Storm

JAMUL, Calif. - June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Penny D. Weigand was off to New York to pitch her latest Bellissima Publishing, LLC book series by local author, Penelope Dyan, and co-author, former San Diegan, Pamela Hillan, now of Lake Ozark Missouri.

“This great adventure/mystery book series about two best friends, written by lifelong friends who grew up together in San Diego, California is perfect for the preteen reader,” says Penny D. The series garnered a lot of interest during Weigand’s recent trip to New York where she attended the 2013 New York Book Festival.  “The great covers draw the reader to the books, but the words inside keep them reading,” Weigand says, “and the fun part is it was written by two different writers who were forced to respond to things they would never expect to happen (in the books) and so this kept the momentum very high.  In fact, this is something kids can do to increase their excitement in writing!”

Penelope Dyan is an attorney, an award winning author and a former teacher.  Two of her books are on display at the Sasion Poetry Library in London, UK; and her book “Surfer Girl’ is winner of best teen book at both the 2008 New York Book Festival and the 2008 Hollywood Book Festival.  “Surfer Girl” is ranked fifth on the AU Pukeke Reading List and is recognized by the Girls Voices In Literature Database, Miami University, Florida.  The “Surfer Girl Book Series” is a part of the special surfing books collection at SDSU. Pamela Hillan is a twenty year veteran court reporter which makes a perfect combination for this mystery/adventure series.
