The Right Tools For Girls Right NOW!

PHILADELPHIA - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Psychologists report that teenagers have at least as many things to worry about as adults. And it comes as no surprise that girls worry far more than boys, which automatically makes it tougher for girls. During the teenage years, doubt can manifest in many ways: depression, eating disorders, drugs, casual sex and poor self-esteem.

This July, Philadelphia-area girls will learn how to embrace success with the 2013 launch of the acclaimed Evoluer Personal Development Summer Workshop for Teen Girls. Through Evoluer House’s signature award-winning 8-week Personal Development Workshop, girls are given techniques, insights, training and a platform for discussion. The program meets girls where they are, acknowledging the reality and pressures facing so many of today’s girls. The FREE program runs from July 9, 2013 through August 29, 2013 on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the historic Peirce College, 1420 Pine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.

Since 2004, Evoluer House has served nearly 800 girls from the city of Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region in its researched-based multi-week Personal Development and Workforce Development programs. Evoluer House programs boast a100% high school graduation rate – a success that was recently led Black Enterprise magazine to proclaim program The Evoluer House an “everyday hero” (along side the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls).

“What we are doing is shaping our community's bright future because when girls are empowered, they contribute to the health and productivity of their families, communities and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone,” said Evoluer House Founder Cheryl Ann Wadlington. “Every one of the over 700 girls that have gone through our programs have graduated high school, and many have gone on to advanced college degrees.”

The 2013 Evoluer Personal Development Workshop is taught by youth development and education professionals that focus on etiquette, self-esteem, values-based decision-making, exploring career paths, financial literacy, time management and interviewing skills.
