LINDENHURST, N.Y. - June 28, 2013 - PRLog -- As more and more  New York baby boomer seniors join the ranks of the retired, they look to celebrate their lives through leisure activities such as travel and entertainment. Helping them celebrate and commemorate their lives through such things as birthday, anniversary, retirement  and reunion parties is a guy by the name of Johnny Cannella who is also known as 'Johnny The Oldies Singer'.

Cannella has for many years entertained Long Islanders with an act he calls "Songs Of The Greats" in which he sings the hit songs of Sinatra  Tony Bennett, Elvis, Frankie Valli,  Engelbert, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Buddy Holley,  Johnny Maestro and many more including the great group songs of the  Beatles, Drifters, Platters, Duprees, Four Seasons (Jersey Boys) and Skyliners just to name a few.

  Growing up in New York City, Johnny learned to sing on the street corners with a doowop group in which he performed second tenor and lead vocals. Thereafter, he broadened his vocal talents through voice training he received studying with renown NY vocal coach CJ Giordano and then began including in his repertoire the more standard ballads that he performs to this day. Once dubbed the "rockin crooner" by a colleague (a name that stuck for years), Cannella can be lulling the crowd into peaceful serenity one moment and rocking their socks off the next. Johnny makes appearances at clubs, fine restaurants and hotel resorts. He most recently appeared at the luxurious Villa Roma Resort in NY. He regularly entertains at seniors events at Crest Hollow Country Club, The Watermill Inn, The Irish Coffee Pub, Marina Grande, The Villa Monoco, the Coral House, Westbury Manor, Jericho Terrace, the Swan Club and Lands End and Lombardi's On The Sound just to name a few of many.
  Johnny also does volunteer performances for St. Jude Children's Hospital like the successful fundraiser concert he recently did in New York's Central Park at Mineral Springs entitled "Make Music For A Cure"  Johnny The Oldies Singer is also one of the most sought after NY Holiday party singers. He sings traditional classic holiday ballads for Christmas office parties and private holiday parties. But you have to book him early because like Santa he gets very busy at Christmas time.
