Orthopedic Physician Dr. Stacie Grossfeld Elected to Louisville Sports Commission Board of Directors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Orthopedic Physician Dr. Stacie Grossfeld was recently elected to a board position for the Louisville Sports Commission. This three-year term runs from 2014 through 2016.

Dr. Stacie Grossfeld is a board certified orthopedic physician with special training in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. As a graduate of University of Louisville’s School of Medicine, Dr. Grossfeld completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Fowler-Kennedy Sports Medicine Center.  She is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). She is also a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Grossfeld has her own orthopedic medical practice, Orthopaedic Specialists at http://www.louisvillebones.com and located at 4001 Kresge Way, Suite 330, in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Grossfeld treats many athletes at her medical practice and also serves as the orthopedic surgeon and sports injury specialist for groups like the Louisville Ballet, Indiana University Southeast and Spalding University. Further, Dr. Grossfeld is frequently asked to give seminars on topics related to sports injuries and sports injury prevention. This spring she conducted a sports medicine seminar titled "Upper Extremity Injuries, Treatment and Strength Training in Tennis.” She also provided the keynote address on ACL Injuries at the “No Bones About It” Lecture Series through Baptist Hospital East this past winter.

In addition to her medical practice at Orthopaedic Specialists, Dr. Grossfeld also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor for the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Louisville and Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Through her work at the University of Louisville, Dr. Grossfeld received the Department Award in June 2013, a special recognition given each year to one faculty member who exhibits extraordinary dedication and commitment to mentoring medical residents in their preparation for a career in medicine.

As a competitive tennis player, and participant in the USTA singles 4.0/4.5 for over a decade, Dr. Grossfeld is also a dedicated athlete. She is an active member of the Society of Medicine and Tennis, and she also enjoys cycling and Nordic skiing.
