Designer Fashion For a Cause: ‘With One Grain’ for ICC Australia

BRISBANE, Australia - July 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Brisbane, Queensland, 1 July 2013 – O’Shirt has teamed up with the International Children’s Care (ICC) Australia for their sixth campaign in raising awareness and funds for charities with their limited edition designer t-shirt sales. Each fortnight O’Shirt selects a special designer to create a limited edition tee that embodies the cause that has been chosen for the campaign, with a minimum of $7 from every shirt sold going towards the charity of choice.

International Children’s Care (Australia) is a Christian international development organisation based in Australia that raises funds and works with international partners to alleviate poverty and build a brighter future for destitute children in developing countries.

ICC Australia supports development initiatives with its implementing partners that focus on the critical needs of destitute children and the communities in which they live. A safe, healthy and nurturing environment is considered essential to ensure that children and young people integrate into their communities as mature and self-sufficient adults who in turn are able to make a positive contribution to their community.

For this campaign O’Shirt has teamed up with Melbourne based designer, Alexsia Heller, a Melbourne based graphic designer and blogger. She has a love for all things visual and creative, which has lead to the creation of the design inspiration blog 'The designBLEND' (http://thedesignblend.net/), with a fellow kiwi and close friend.

Alexsia says, “The ‘With One Grain’ design symbolises the many nutritious meals that ICC Australia supplies to children and families in need, in places like the Philippines and Cambodia. Each grain of rice symbolises each individual meal that help children to grow healthier and happier. The grouping of the grains together re-enforces the idea of food bringing a family together.”
