Australia’s largest privately owned rooftop solar installation completed in Adelaide

BRISBANE, Australia - July 3, 2013 - PRLog -- National solar developer Ingenero completed the 495kW rooftop solar system at the new site for KJM Contractors in Edinburgh Park last month.  

Funded with the support of an Aus Industry grant, the large‐scale installation will aid energy and cost

efficiencies at the new 14,000m2 state-of‐the‐art manufacturing facility.  

KJM Contractors provide logistical support and remote site solutions to the mining and exploration industries. Due to rapid growth, KJM combined five separate sites into the one custom‐built manufacturing facility in 2012.    

KJM Contractors Owner and Managing Director Kim McNamara said the new facility would reduce day‐to‐ day operating costs.  

“Our vision for the new plant was to utilize technology like solar power to improve our energy efficiency, which in turn lowers operating costs and will help KJM achieve a competitive edge long term,” Mr McNamara said.

“Ingenero was able to provide a solution that met all our requirements and the new 495kW solar system is an asset to our new state‐of‐the‐art plant,” he said.

Ingenero’s Adelaide‐based Business Development Manager, Patrick Greene, said the project reflected a wider trend in the Australian business sector.

“This project, like others Ingenero’s working on, really shows how commercial solar power is being embraced by many Australian businesses who want to reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions,” Mr Greene said.
