Follow on Google News | ![]() Global Extractive Industry Priming-Up for West & Central Africa’s Annual Mining Meet in SeptemberThe 6th West & Central Africa Mining Summit & Expo 2013, the region’s premier African mining event set for September 17-18 at Ghana's Accra International Conference Centre, has been growing into its largest gathering of industry players to date.
The 2013 Conference will feature a robust panel of speakers from in and around the region, including HE Martin Kabwelulu Labilo, Minister of the Ministry of Mines, Democratic Republic of Congo, who will present on the immense mining opportunities in the DRC; along with Dr Désiré Vencatachellum, Director at the African Development Bank, who will advise on “How to Manage Natural Resources to Provide Growth for the Whole Country.” Among the many mining industry experts speaking at the two-day Summit will be Mr Craig Anderson, CEO of the Summit’s Platinum Sponsor, the 888 Investment Group, that has constructed the first gold refinery in Ghana capable of producing 9999 bullion products. Operated by 888 Investment Ghana Ltd, the new refinery has the capacity to process up to half a ton of gold per day, providing a lead for other West African countries to follow in the production of bullion products. Meanwhile, preparations for the 6th WaCA Expo have been accelerated to provide for the largest number of exhibitors ever in the WaCA Mining series, with participation from the global mining industry’s major country players such as Australia, Canada, South Africa, France, USA, India, Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands.
