Follow on Google News | Former Federal Inmate Launches Novel CareerBy: Wayne Hicks Ventures In 2007, one of his business ventures, a kind of online bank, was searched by the IRS, and this led eventually to the charges that sent him into the Federal Prison System. He currently owes the IRS more than seven million dollars in restitution, and several of his clients filed lawsuits when the business folded, leading to more damages he must pay. He hopes to pay it all off someday, by getting his books onto the Best Seller lists. "I always wanted to write novels," he says, "but never had the time while I was working. Well, a couple of years ago, it dawned on me that time was all I had so I began writing. Over a two year period, I wrote four novels. Two of them are magical fantasies, one is a magical romance and one is a modern horror story. All four of them are just the first books in their respective series. If you like magic, epic quests, laughs and romance, or stories about monsters that can't be killed, I've got something for you. And there's more coming; I have two more books nearing completion, now." Wayne is now out of prison, but confined to a wheelchair from injuries to his knees that exacerbated an arthritic condition, has recently published his finished books himself. They are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and other websites where eBooks are sold. And so far, the reviews are glowing, calling his work "heart-warming," They are also available at his website, www.waynehicks.us, where a fan club is already growing. Fans get free access to all of his books, and he is currently offering Lifetime Membership for only $6.95. "That isnt going to last long, though, I hope," he says. "Writing is like any other business, in that you've got to let people know that your books are worth reading. If I make it a bargain right now, I can hope to gain many more fans down the road who will buy the books and let me make a living from them." With a teenage daughter to support, making a living is important, but he's also hoping to make enough to be able to pay off his debts. "A lot of people lost money when I went down, and while there were a lot of factors involved, no matter how I look at it the ultimate responsibility for those losses is mine. I have to make a living, but I plan to see all those people repaid, and this is the best chance I have of doing so." Reviews of his books can also be found on his website: http://www.waynehicks.us End
