300th birthday of Fray Junipero Serra founder of California missions celebrated with Special Events

SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 8, 2013 - PRLog -- 2013 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Fray Junípero Serra, founder of Alta California’s first nine missions and co-founder of its four presidios.  To celebrate this momentous occasion CasaQ and Reserve Events & Destinations has created a four-day excursion visiting five California missions along the Monterey, Carmel and Santa Cruz Bays and the fabulous wineries along the way.

A highlight of the trip, with limited tickets available to outside guests, is the California Mission Dinner being held as a fundraiser for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Monterey. The dinner will take place on October 4^th at 6:00pm at Mission Carmel's historic Orchard House, California’s oldest residential dwelling. This private Adobe built in 1774 is rarely seen and not open to the public. Guests will dine alfresco indulging in a multi-course menu for foodies featuring Native-American and Spanish cuisine created by Chef Vince Guasch of PSRT and eHow food expert Darlene Tenes of CasaQ with perfect California and Spanish wine pairings by Sommelier Debbie Blackwell.
